How do we prevent a break-in in 39 seconds?
Find out about the technology and the people behind the Verisure burglar alarm.

The Verisure Deterrent Sign warns burglars that the home is protected by an Alarm System and image recording.
Our Shock Sensors trigger the alarm immediately if a burglar tries to break in through doors or windows.

Verisure Photo Detectors, which include PIR motion detectors and Infrared sensors, will start taking photos as the intruder breaks in. These photos are sent to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) for evaluation.
The SVK (Siren, Voice, Keypad) combines a siren, two-way voice with ARC experts, and a keypad. In Silent Listening Mode, ARC officers discreetly listen in to verify what’s happening.

Our ARC security experts analyse all information, verify the intrusion, and activate the appropriate intervention protocol.
ZeroVision Smoke Barrier Activated
If your alarm includes ZeroVision, the ARC can activate it to create a zero-visibility smoke screen that disorients intruders.

The ARC can dispatch a private guard and/or contact the police. If a burglary is taking place, the police are always contacted.

How Does Verisure's Home Security System Work?
Deter Intruders
Bold deterrent signs outside your property make intruders think twice before they even attempt to damage your property.
Detect Earlier
With sensors on doors and windows, plus photodetectors inside your property, and a range of security cameras available, our alarm system doesn't have blind spots.
Verify Alerts
Our security experts then verify that the alert is genuine, they only access sensors in your home when the alarm is triggered.
Intervene Rapidly
Our experts can then rapidly intervene to protect your property with our ZeroVision smoke barrier, sending a security guard and calling the police, all within seconds.

Be in Charge of Your Own Security
The SVK lies at the heart of the Verisure Home Alarm System. it combines 3 essential security features into one device; Siren, Voice communication, and Keypad protection.
The system is equipped with an SOS alert button and a security speaker. Your Home Alarm is activated and deactivated in all its modes from the SVK.
When the alarm is triggered, Silent Listening Mode also is carried out through the SVK.

Frequently Asked Home Security Questions
Having a security system installed at your home can significantly reduce the likelihood of your property being targeted by burglars or intruders.
They help protect what matters most to you!
Verisure offer a fully monitored home security system that includes cameras, door and window sensors, UK based security experts who verify what's happening when your alarm is activated and take action, by activating a smoke barrier to repel intruders, sending a private security guard to your property or calling the police.
There are a number of options available when you're considering which home security system to buy. Usually you'll find them split into:
- DIY (or self-installed) home alarms;
- Bell-only alarms that simply provide an audible siren when activated;
- Self-monitored alarms with cameras where you are responsible for responding to alarm activations at any time;
- Fully monitored alarms like Verisure's that provide monitoring services so that professionals are on hand whenever your alarm is activated;
While all of these options have their benefits, if you're looking for the best security possible, a fully monitored alarm system will give you the greatest peace of mind.
A survey from securityalarms.co.uk showed that when a bell-only alarm is activated nearby, nearly 1/3 of people simply ignore it, and only 6% would call the police!
DIY installations aren't always installed correctly and can leave gaps in their coverage, CCTV based systems require a lot more intervention from you to maintain, self-monitored systems cannot intervene if there's something happening in your home.
A fully monitored system takes care of all of these problems, leaving you to relax knowing that your home is protected.
Studies have shown that home security systems are an effective deterrent against burglary. A study from UNC Charlotte showed that:
Approximately 60% of the convicted burglars indicated the presence of a burglar alarm would cause them to seek an alternative target
The presence of an alarm and outdoor cameras were ranked as the two most effective deterrents against burglary.
Verisure's home security systems can be installed with multiple cameras, and include strong deterrent signs on the property to let would-be burglars know that the home is protected by an alarm with professional monitoring.
Yes - Verisure uses wireless cameras, wireless door and window sensors and wireless control panels - providing a completely wireless system.
This means that our professional installers don't have to drill holes in your walls, lay expensive cabling or dig up your garden.
Additionally, Verisure's central unit includes a battery backup in case of power outage, and a 4G data backup in case your internet connection drops. This means that in almost any circumstance, your alarm can still contact the experts in our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
The cost of securing your home depends on a wide array of factors including:
- The type of property (e.g. apartment, terraced, detatched etc.)
- The number of vulnerable entrypoints to your property (e.g. doors, windows, side gates, garages etc.)
- The level of protection you'd like to have (e.g. just a siren, just a camera, door and window sensors, fully monitored alarm)
- The type of alarm you install. DIY or CCTV systems will be cheaper, but with a trade-off on the level of protection they provide
Without knowing the specifics of your property it's difficult to provide a price. We recommend contacting Verisure today and booking a security consultation with one of our experts.
Absolutely!
Our advanced shock sensors detect not only when doors or windows are opened, but also subtle vibrations that suggest that someone is trying to gain access.
This means that we can detect burglars before they've gained access to the property, allowing our security experts to react quickly, activating our ZeroVision smoke barrier, calling the police or dispatching a private security guard to your home.
Verisure have teams of local installers all over the country. You can see our list of branches here.
This means that our home security systems are professionally installed quickly, by someone with knowledge of the local area.

Largest Provider of Monitored Alarm Systems in Europe
An alarm for the whole family
The Verisure home alarm includes an access-control system that is very useful for families. Any family member, from children to seniors, can activate or deactivate the alarm system easily from the home’s entrance. In addition, the entry and exit times of all family members or employees (for a business) are recorded through the smart keys, which are assigned to each user.
Protection Against Fire
Smoke alarms and detectors are vital to any complete alarm system. The Verisure smoke detector can detect and signal the presence of smoke in the air. This will alert us of the risk of fire in your home or business premises. Before going off, our Smoke Detector sends a signal to the Verisure Alarm Receiving Centre, where it is evaluated and checked before alerting the emergency services. If a fire hazard is indeed detected, our staff will contact you to brief you on the situation and the possible solutions.
