How Do I Unlock My Door With LockGuard?
Is My Door Compatible With LockGuard?
While Verisure always endeavour to keep every home as secure as possible, for LockGuard to be reliable, your door/lock must meet certain criteria.
Euro Cylinder Lock
The lock for the door must be a Euro cylinder to ensure LockGuard can operate correctly.
30mm Clearance
The centre of your Euro Cylinder lock must be at least 30mm away from the edge of the door.
No Lift To Lock
Your door must not require the handle to be lifted up before it can be locked.
No Additional Deadbolt
LockGuard operates only on the Euro cylinder lock. Additional deadbolts affect functionality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every home in the UK get LockGuard?
Unfortunately, there are only certain doors and lock types suitable for use with the LockGuard smart lock. Your local Verisure expert can tell you whether a smart lock would be suitable for your door when they visit to provide your quote for the alarm system.
Can I just get LockGuard without an alarm system?
No - LockGuard is only available with Verisure's Home Alarm System. This is because LockGuard is designed specifically to integrate closely with the rest of the alarm system and provide increased protection at the front door.
Do I need to tell my home insurer about installing a smart lock?
Yes - insurers in the UK will need to be notified of a change in the type of lock you install on your front door - including the LockGuard smart lock.
Do I have to get a new door?
No - your local installer will not change your door. They will however remove the old lock to install LockGuard.
What happens if the battery dies in the smart lock?
If the battery is depleted in your LockGuard, you'll still be able to gain access to your property using the key as usual. If you have any issues at all gaining access to your property with LockGuard installed - just contact our support team for advice.
Can criminals hack smart locks?
LockGuard has layers of protection to prevent hacking. Security updates will also be periodically applied to ensure you have the latest security updates.
Can I just leave my keys at home if I have LockGuard?
No - Verisure would always recommend you keep your keys with you at all times.
There can be rare occasions where LockGuard may malfunction, or something happens to the equipment that's outside your control.
The physical key will allow you to open the door, even in these cases.
Does LockGuard have a Kitemark?
No - currently LockGuard does not have a Kitemark certification.
It is certified to the European SKG 3-star standard and Kitemark certification is expected in the near future.
Can I throw away my old lock cylinder once LockGuard is installed?
No - always retain the original lock for your door when LockGuard has been installed.
This will ensure that you can replace the original lock and keep your home secure if you choose to remove LockGuard.
How do I get another key cut for LockGuard?
When LockGuard is installed you'll be given a verification card.
Please keep this verification card safe and take it to a reputable locksmith.
You cannot create copies of keys for the cylinder in LockGuard unless you have this verification card.
Installing LockGuard
Professionally Installed by Verisure
All LockGuards are professionally installed by your local Verisure expert.
The process of installation is fast - and can often be done the same day you purchase your Verisure alarm.
- The old cylinder is removed from the lock.
- Mounting plates and spacers are installed to ensure LockGuard matches your existing lock.
- The new anti-pick cylinder is installed.
- LockGuard itself is installed onto the new cylinder and activated by your Verisure installer.
Encrypted Secure Cloud Storage
All alarm images are encrypted and stored in secure cloud storage.
