Do cameras deter burglars?

Security cameras can deter burglars in one of two ways. Placing outdoor cameras on the front of your home may be enough to deter someone from trying to break in, as they will see your property is secured.

Even if your cameras are not on show, they are protecting your home from burglars. The Arlo XL Outdoor Wireless Security Camera and the Indoor Security Camera provided as part of Verisure’s smart alarm systems possess a range of features to detect any suspicious activity and ensure swift action is taken in the event of an intrusion.

Both cameras have a wide field of view and are equipped with night vision, providing you with extensive high resolution footage of your home even in low light. They also come with a built-in motion sensor and can be integrated with your smartphone, so if your cameras detect any movement, you will be notified via the Verisure app.

From there, you can check the camera's live feed in high definition on your phone, wherever you are in the world. You can also use the two-way audio function on your cameras to communicate with people in your property.

Verisure cameras are also professionally monitored by a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) which investigates any trigger of your indoor and outdoor cameras. Within 45 seconds, Verisure assess the situation and in the event of a verified alarm activation, dispatch a team of security guards to intervene, alert the police, medical services or fire brigade as appropriate.

If your system is equipped with Verisure ZeroVision, the professionals at the ARC can remotely set off a dense fog, obscuring the intruder's visibility and preventing them from stealing your belongings.
