Burglary Statistics - July 2025

Based on monthly reporting by police forces in England and Wales via data.police.uk.

  • In July 2025 there was a 1.8% increase in burglaries reported by police forces in England and Wales.
  • Lincolnshire Police reported the biggest month-on-month increase in burglaries, with 34.1% more burglaries reported than in June 2025.
  • Surrey Police reported the biggest year-on-year increase in reported burglaries, rising by 16.5%.
  • Of the 17,461 burglaries reported by British and Welsh police forces in July 2025 – 35.3% were investigated without a suspect being identified and 57.5% were still under investigation.
  • On a positive note - Burglaries reported across England and Wales were 12% lower in July 2025 compared to July 2024.

Burglaries Reported In England and Wales - Last 6 Months

We can see that burglaries have started to rise slightly since their low in April this year, but there is no sign of a significant spike in the number of burglaries reported across England and Wales.

Biggest % Change in Number of Burglaries Reported by Police Force - July 2025

Comparing June 2025 to July 2025, we can see that Lincolnshire Police and Bedfordshire Police both reported a more than 30% increase in burglaries. Whereas both Norfolk and Gloucestershire Constabularies both saw a 20%+ reduction in reported Burglaries over the same timeframe.
