In July 2025 there was a 1.8% increase in burglaries reported by police forces in England and Wales.
Lincolnshire Police reported the biggest month-on-month increase in burglaries, with 34.1% more burglaries reported than in June 2025.
Surrey Police reported the biggest year-on-year increase in reported burglaries, rising by 16.5%.
Of the 17,461 burglaries reported by British and Welsh police forces in July 2025 – 35.3% were investigated without a suspect being identified and 57.5% were still under investigation.
On a positive note - Burglaries reported across England and Wales were 12% lower in July 2025 compared to July 2024.

We can see that burglaries have started to rise slightly since their low in April this year, but there is no sign of a significant spike in the number of burglaries reported across England and Wales.

Biggest % Change in Number of Burglaries Reported by Police Force - July 2025

Comparing June 2025 to July 2025, we can see that Lincolnshire Police and Bedfordshire Police both reported a more than 30% increase in burglaries. Whereas both Norfolk and Gloucestershire Constabularies both saw a 20%+ reduction in reported Burglaries over the same timeframe.
