Whether you're moving house and want to transfer your Verisure Monitored Alarm to a new property, or you're moving into a property that already has an alarm installed, this page tells you all you need to know about the moving process.

Moving is an exciting time, but it is also ranked among the most stressful events. At Verisure, we understand that nothing is more important than the security of your property, and we are here to support you during your move. To help you with this transition, we have put together a summary of frequently asked questions from our customers.

Do I have to cancel my existing contract when I move?

No, you don't need to cancel your contract. We understand that moving involves many costs, so you won't have to pay upfront again to install a new security system.

How does the move process work?

To save time, we can arrange for a Field Security Expert to install a brand-new security system (same number and type of devices of your current installation) at your new premises at no cost. It's important we contact the new owner or tenant to discuss the existing security system.

What if the new owners or tenants are not willing to be contacted or share their contact details?

If this is the case, don't worry. We will schedule a Field Security Expert (FSE) to dismantle and reinstall your current security system.

If you request it, we will always try to complete the entire move process on the same day, depending on the distance between the two premises and the availability of our Field Security Experts (FSE).

Please be aware that if the dismantling and reinstallation need to be carried out on different dates, the FSE will dismantle the alarm system and leave it with you. You will need to provide the system at your new home for reinstallation. The FSE will not keep the dismantled security system in their van, as we cannot guarantee that the same FSE will perform the reinstallation.

Are there any costs associated with the move process?

Our dedicated Move Team will discuss any potential costs and any changes to your monthly fee if you need more or fewer devices in your new home.

How will the security needs in my new house be evaluated?

Our Field Security Expert will identify the most vulnerable points of entry and determine which areas need protection. If additional devices are recommended, the expert will inform you of the cost, and if you agree, they will be installed during the current maintenance visit, provided there is enough time and the FSE has the devices available.

How much notice should I provide to Verisure?

We understand that it is not always possible to get exact notice of when you will be moving property, and we will try to accommodate every request. However, it is advisable the account holder contact us at least 30 days before your anticipated moving date. This allows us to discuss your security needs, arrange the visit of our Field Security Expert at a convenient time, and handle all administrative work to avoid unnecessary stress.

Do I need an internet connection to reinstall the security system or Arlo devices?

Depending on your security alarm system, it may need to be connected to your router or Wi-Fi. For Arlo devices, an internet connection is required to ensure they remain fully operational and connected to our Alarm Receiving Centre.

Should my Arlo devices be charged to reinstall them?

Yes, it is very important that your Arlo devices have sufficient battery so our Field Security Expert can connect them to your internet, ensure they work properly, and allow our Alarm Receiving Centre to access them in case of an incident.

How can I let you know that I am moving?

There are several ways to request the Move Team to contact you and organize your move:

  1. Filling the Move Request Form: Complete the form available here.
  2. Through the My Verisure App: Click on the Alarm Move section and fill out the form.
  3. Contacting Customer Services: Reach out via WhatsApp or phone. They will register your details and inform the Move Team to contact you.

I am moving into a home or business already equipped with a Verisure alarm. How can I benefit from the monitoring service?

You have just moved into a new premises where a Verisure alarm system is already installed. To enjoy the benefits of 24/7 monitoring service, Verisure makes it easy for you. Upon your request, we will send a Field Security Expert to your premises to reactivate your alarm system and sign the contract. The Field Security Expert will:

  • Verify the proper functioning of each component of the alarm system.
  • Replace batteries in case it is necessary.
  • Reconnect the alarm main unit to our UK-based Alarm Receiving Centre, which protects you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Provide a demonstration and training on the proper use of the security system.
  • Assist you in accessing the My Verisure mobile app for remote alarm control.

How can I contact Verisure if I am interested in reconnecting the security services?
